HELP STOP THE HUNT

Photobucket

At the time of slaughter, many have yet to eat their first solid meal or take their first swim, and they are utterly defenseless against the hunters.

Nations around the world have taken action to end their trade in seal products or announced their intention to do so, including Austria, Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Panama, Slovenia and the United States.

HSUS is calling upon the Canadian government to end the seal hunt by implementing a fair buyout of the sealing industry, compensating seal hunters for lost income as the slaughter is closed.

To take action for these baby seals, please visit this site:
It takes only a few minutes to sign these petitions, and they make a HUGE difference!

MAKE SURE YOU WATCH THE VIDEO IT IS HEARTBREAKING AND IT SHOWS WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THESE POOR DEFENSELESS BABY SEALS.

also here is some information if you think that maybe it's necessary for them to do this.

I really wanted to research it and understand the why’s of what they are doing out there. I thought at first that maybe it was a cultural practice of Canada’s indigenous people…but its not. Then I thought that maybe it was done due to over population of the seals or to over fishing of the cod in the area…but its not. Then I thought well maybe it makes up a huge part of the local economy in that area…but nope its less than 15% of their yearly income. Sadly what it is a hunt of animals for their skin and bodily oils (the seal oil is used to make Omega 3 capsules). Rich designers make profits off of the baby skins and nutritional supplement companies make money off the oil.

This is purely a money making venture that the sealers and the Canadian government must find quite profitable.

there is no reason for this to be going on.
